You are sitting on a plane, in business class sipping on a glass of good scotch or whatever. Contrary to some of what I suspect to be media scaremongering, the NZ data suggest hat the delta variant has a very low case fatality rate.

I note that, in NZ, we now have about the same number of active cases as we did at the peak of the first outbreak last year, and yet no-one has died. The ‘delta’ variant seems less deadly, albeit more contagious. Regarding hospitalisations and deaths, I think the existence of the variants confounds things a bit. Unless the vaccine is 100% effective – which no vaccine, and certainly no COVID vaccine is – that is statistically inevitable. However, it’s obviously the case that, as a vaccination rate increases, the proportion of new cases, hospitalisations and deaths that occur in vaccinated people also increases.

I think there are serious questions about the vaccines that aren’t being addressed in the MSM, presumably because the whole issue is so politicised. I don’t know why you’ve been down-ticked for impeccable logic Benedict.
